Anthony B is about to release a new album on Greensleeves records. It will be out in October 2008.
Rise Up is his fourth album produced by Frenchie from Maximum Sound after Power Of Creation (2004), Black Star (2005) and Higher Meditation (2007).
This is a strong collaboration between a producer and a great artist that delivers once again powerful and heavy roots tunes.
Veteran Burning Spear soon strikes hard with a new album due out on August. This new 13 tracks set, Jah Is Real, was recorded and mixed in New York City at Magic Shop studio as his 2005 album Our Music. As the majority of his albums until the late 70’s, Winston Rodney produced this new one on his Burning Music Productions. Since 2003, he reinforced his choice for independence by self-distributing and promoting his own productions. He keeps on spreading his positive message with a strong determination on roots rhythms.

Five years after his last album Leave Out A Babylon, veteran dancehall singer Lincoln ‘Sugar’ Minott comes back with New Day. This new set is due out on July 21 on Stop, Look and Listen records and features several collaborations with Jamaican artists. Toots Hibbert on self-tiltled track ‘New Day’, deejays Josey Wales and Ranking Trevor, guitarist Dwight Pickney, Peter’s son Andrew Tosh, Bongo Herman and Scully on percussions along with Sly Dunbar on drums.
To note that seven tracks were recorded at Sugar’s studio, Black Roots in Kingston and the album has been produced by English Roman Pryce who also engineered and mixed the set in the UK, Jamaica and the USA. A new dancehall, reggae and lover’s rock album.

After launching Richie Spice, Anthony Cruz or Chuck Fender, Jamaican label 5th Element presents its new artist : Etana.
Born in Jamaica and raised in Miami, she met the 5th Element label crew in 2005 when she decided to come back to the place of her birth. She made her debuts with the hit ‘Wrong Address’ in 2006 and ‘Roots’ in 2007. Now, the time has finaly come to release her first album : The Strong One. It’s a 15 roots tracks set out on 17th June for VP records featuring productions by Dean Fraser, Robert Livingstone and Carl James to name just a few. It also includes her recent hits (‘Roots’ and ‘Wrong Adress’) and a duet with Italian singjay Alborosie (‘Jah Blessings’).
As she says about her music : “It is straight from the heart, straight from the soul, straight from the people and everyday life”. Conscious female singers are rare in Reggae community and this soulful singer and songwriter is one to watch.

Including tracks by John Holt, Wailing Souls, Sizzla, Ras Shiloh or Prince Jammy, this Greensleeves Annual Report will be released on 11th November.
